In January of 2018 our chairperson Fa'ataualofa Smith and Treasurer Andrew Smith embarked on a fact-finding tour of Southern India.

During their time there they visited an orphanage, the Faith and Vision Ministry Orphanage in Kakinada, Southern India.

There they met Pastor Johney and wife Sujatha and family who look after the children at the orphanage.

Ps. Johney aside from running the orphanage with his family, also does a lot of community and outreach work in India. He visits Schools in India and puts on a very interactive puppet show for the children.

Ps. Johney conveyed that the orphanage was in need of a proper kitchen and dining hall as the children had to eat their meals in the entryway. Their need really resonated with our Trustees, who all agreed that this was a project that we could help with.

So The Innovation Trust donated the funds to build a dining hall and kitchen for the Faith and Vision Ministry Orphanage. The progress of the build can be seen and the video below.

We still have a way to go until the building is ready, but we will keep you up to date. If you want to find out more about Ps. Johney and the orphanage and all the great work they are doing, you can contact him on his Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/andhra.j.india
